Living here is almost a dream, with such a close-knit and really wonderful community nestled among such raw north coast natural beauty.
There are so many fun things to do on the north coast, it's hard to build a complete list - here's just a smattering.
Click here for more stunning photographs of the area.
The Village of Mendocino was first founded in 1852 as a lumber town, and has gone through several iterations in fishing and now tourism as the primary business. A famous shipwreck happened off the coast called the Frolic.
The Historic District keeps the old town close to the way it was - with strict limitations on neon lights, brightness of signs, franchises, etc..
I will continue to fill out this section over time, but for now, here's an excellent resource on buildings in the area.
